My Political Thoughts Going Into 2028
First thing I want to say, and I want to be very forward about this: I endorse Kamala Harris for the 2028 U.S. presidential election.
I’ve thought about this for a while, and she’s the candidate I believe will move this country in the right direction. I’ve grown up connected to the Democratic Party — like a lot of African Americans do — and I recognize the values that shaped me: fairness, progress, and community.
I also have strong opinions on certain social topics. For example, I personally believe transgender individuals should compete in sports under their original gender category. That’s just how I feel about competitive fairness in athletics. At the same time, I strongly support gay rights, because I genuinely believe the LGBTQ+ community and African Americans share historical struggles — fighting to be heard, respected, and treated with dignity.
My thoughts might not align perfectly with everyone, but at least they’re honest. And honesty is all I can offer.
I was born a Democrat, as a lot of African Americans are, and I do think that transgender individuals should be in sports, competing in their original gender; anyway, I support gay rights because I feel like gays and African Americans can relate to each other.
My Creative Work: Music, Books, and More
Now onto something that defines me even more than politics — my work.
I’ve got music coming out, and I’m excited about where it’s heading. I’ve been thinking deeply about my sound, my message, and what the next chapter of my artistry is supposed to look like. This winter break will be the time I finally ground myself and bring clarity into these projects.
I’ve also got books I need to write. Stories that have been sitting on my heart for months. New characters, new worlds, new emotions I want to capture. Writing has always been my second voice — the one that says everything I’m too afraid to speak out loud.
And then there’s research — my academic lane, the area where I need discipline the most. I want to elevate my work, push myself harder, and walk into next year with progress I can be proud of.
The Busiest Winter Break of My Life
This winter break? It won’t be a break at all.
It’s going to be the busiest winter break on this planet — and that’s not an exaggeration. Between creating music, outlining books, working on research, preparing for next semester, and trying to rebuild my confidence one day at a time… I know I’ll barely have room to rest.
But honestly? That’s how I know I’m growing. That’s how I know I’m entering a new season of my life.
I’m tired, but I’m grateful. Overwhelmed, but motivated. Uncertain, but still moving forward.
